Aloha!!
I introduce my solution for hiding the unsightly electrical outlets and plugs used by the swag lamps in our tiki lounge!
Boost MeIf you find this project useful or inspirational, please throw me a boost - it is truly appreciated! Mahalo!!
This light box design was inspired by the Jade Breezeway Tile model from thewanderingbastard. Support his work here: https://ko-fi.com/thewanderingbastard
This model uses the following printable parts:
If you would like to light-up your box (and why wouldn't you), here is a list of parts I used from Aliexpress:
1-5Pcs USB Wall Charger Adapter Fast Charging For iPhone 14 13 12 11 Pro Max XR XS X 8 7 6 Plus iPad Travel Adapter US Plug

5 Way Multi Plug Outlet Extender, Wall Outlet Expander, Small Electrical Outlet Splitter for Travel, Home, Office, Dorm

1/10Pcs Mini USB Night Light Warm White Eye Protection Book Reading Light USB Plug Computer Mobile Power Charging LED Night Lamp

Pro-tip: buy extra of these (cheap) USB lights. I had one fail within a few days of use.
You can see how I used these parts in the pictures - the small USB light gets plugged into the outlet splitter, facing out. We use smart dimmers in our lounge, to control all of our lights in one fell swoop. :)
Note: my design is for a 150mm box (approx 6 inches). Be forewarned: it's quite tight to fit some of the plugs. You may need to rewire some plugs, if some of your lamp plugs are large. You will not be able to use all 5 available outlets. I managed to wire 3 into mine (plus the USB lights). If you need more connections per box, consider scaling your printed parts up a bit, perhaps to 200mm, to provide yourself a bit more room to play with!
Swag-chains:
I attached small, screw-in, cup-hooks (likely from Aliexpress as well) to attach the ends of the swag-chains which are on many of our lamps. I screwed them in right above the square wire pass-through holes on each corner of the box, before mounting them on the ceiling.
Minor issue:
The model for the box has a minor imperfection near the corners on a couple of sides. I screwed my cup hooks directly over these areas, so it did not bother me enough to fix or re-print my boxes. (Noone aside from me even notices it.) If the corners bother you enough to edit the files, please share the fix, and I will update the file package.
We have 6 of these boxes mounted to our ceiling and absolutely love them!
Please post pics if you decide to print/make this model!
