Description
At first glance, it’s just a cute decorative teddy bear…
but inside it hides three secret drawers, designed to store jewelry, rings, earrings or other small personal treasures.
A perfect Valentine’s Day gift, where surprise and attention to detail truly matter.
Assembly is straightforward and requires no tools.
The drawers include small side protrusions that act as stops. These allow the drawers to slide smoothly along their guides during opening, while limiting their travel so they cannot be pulled completely out of the bear.
To insert the drawers:
The elastic band is placed on the back of the bear and is responsible for returning the button to its original position.
The design includes multiple anchor positions for the elastic band, allowing:
In my case, I simply used a hair elastic, which worked perfectly.
The design includes dedicated slots for 6×2 mm magnets in both:
Magnets are not mandatory, but they help keep the drawers firmly closed and prevent them from opening when the bear is moved.
The round drawer prints without supports with a more than acceptable finish on my X1C, especially when the part is oriented toward the auxiliary fan.
If overhangs are not the strong point of your printer, supports can be used optionally, although they were not necessary in my tests.
⚠️ Important – bed adhesion
A clean print bed is strongly recommended to ensure proper adhesion, as the button mechanism must remain completely stable during printing.
If any part of the mechanism moves on the bed, it may fuse to the bear body, causing the mechanism to fail and ruining the entire print.
For this reason, the use of adhesive is highly recommended.
In my case, I used Bambu liquid glue on a PEI bed, and in all tests the mechanism worked perfectly.
🔧 Important recommendation:
This is a long print with a significant filament consumption, so I strongly recommend using my print profile, as it is the one used during testing and has proven to be reliable.
Cute on the outside…
full of secrets on the inside 🧸✨
I truly enjoyed designing this hidden drawer bear and fine-tuning every detail of the mechanism.
The filament cost has been high, as I printed multiple units to ensure the model is as easy and reliable to print as possible.
If you like the design, a like is greatly appreciated,
