The Scale Lamp

I designed a parametric script to generate the "scale" texture for this lampshade and designed a custom base specifically for the Bambu Lab LED Lamp Kit. (LED Lamp Kit (1pcs) - MH001)

 

I am an architecture student - and I created this model to experiment with form and light. The pattern is fully modeled into the geometry, creating a detailed woven look when printed and illuminated.

Filament & Printer

I printed this on 2 plates using my A1 Mini on the Bambu Lab Cool Plate.

• Shade: Printed in Transparent PLA. (PETG works well too!)
• Base: Printed in Matte White PLA.

Print Settings

• Shade (Important!): Enable Spiral Vase mode. Set the line width to 0.8 mm (…using a 0.4 mm nozzle).
• Base: 3 Walls - else default settings.

Assembly

1. Insert the LED Kit 001 puck onto the core.
2. Route the cable through the shade and the dedicated side channel.
3. Place the shade onto the core (upside down).
4. Screw the bottom plate onto the core to lock the shade in place.
