Description: This is a 3D-printed mold system designed to create a silicone master for producing two interlocking puzzle pieces featuring the word “LOVE”. It is ideal for DIY gift projects and personal creations made with resin, soap, wax, plaster, concrete, and similar casting materials.
The mold is optimized for FDM printing without supports, offers clean demolding, and is designed for easy and precise assembly using common clamps or rubber bands. The resulting silicone master can be reused multiple times for consistent results.
⚠️ This print is intended as a master mold to create a silicone mold — not for direct food contact.
⚠️ Important: Although the two puzzle pieces may appear to fit together, they are not designed to interlock. This is intentional. The parts were made slightly bolder for production reasons, improving strength, durability, and flexibility across different materials and use cases.

Dimensions
Puzzle cast size: around 80 mm × 80 mm x 40 mm height
Recommended Print Settings
Puzzle pieces:
Layer height: 0.12 mm (higher detail, smoother surface, less sanding)
All other parts:
Layer height: 0.16 mm
Color:
For best results, print the top frame in a second, contrasting color.Visually monitor the silicone fill level and avoid spilling silicone outside the mold.
Assembly Instructions
Each edge of the base has alignment marks on the side to ensure correct orientation.
Secure the shell to the base using:
Rubber bands, or
Medium to large clamps (binder clips also work well)
Ensure uniform pressure around the mold to avoid silicone leaks.

Casting Notes
Pour silicone slowly and in short stages to minimize air bubbles.
The mold geometry helps prevent air traps, but fast pouring can still introduce bubbles.
Bubble Reduction Tip
After mixing, place the silicone container in the freezer overnight:
Cold temperature slows curing
Allows bubbles time to rise and escape
Improves final surface quality
Important Safety Notes
Food contact:
❌ Do NOT pour food directly into FDM-printed parts
✅ Always use this print to create a food-safe silicone mold
Some silicones may require a release agent — check the manufacturer’s specifications.
Most food-grade silicones are not oven-safe unless explicitly stated.
Post-Processing – 3D Printed Parts
Lightly sand inner mold surfaces with P400–P800 grit sandpaper
Clean thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol after sanding
Ensure the mold is completely dry before casting
Post-Processing – Silicone Mold (Food-Grade Use)
First Cleaning After Casting
1. Rinse Immediately
Use warm running water to remove dust and residue
2. Degrease
Wash in warm water with mild, food-safe dish soap
Use a soft sponge only
3. Neutralize & Deodorize
Rinse with warm water + 1–2 tbsp white vinegar per liter
Helps remove chemical odors and oily residues
4. Optional Deep Clean
If an oily film remains:
Sprinkle baking soda
Gently rub with a damp sponge
Rinse thoroughly
FAQ
Is this food-safe? No. This print is a master for making silicone molds.
Best filament?
PLA: Easy to print, good surface quality
PETG: Better durability and heat resistance
How much silicone is needed for one cast?
Approximately 100 grams of silicone are required for one complete cast of the puzzle mold.
The exact amount may vary slightly depending on the silicone brand, viscosity, and how carefully the mold is filled. It is recommended to mix a small extra amount to avoid running short during pouring.
Can I customize the top face? Yes.
Print the flat versions, then add your own text or image.
Puzzle A and Puzzle B each have a defined 50 x 50 mm flat area suitable for customization.
