Description

Experimental MINI NERF Dart is shorter version of my full length Experimental Nerf Dart. It is supposed to be aerodynamic, self stabilising and flying longer and more accurate… That is theory. The idea came from community and was to create a Mini or Half dart, but after some testing I found out that pin inside the barrel of my blaster is longer than half sized dart and does not allow the dart to be inserted deep enough to open air restrictor… basically the blaster was shooting with closed valve… Therefore I prolonged the dart so it now opens air restrictor… the final length is 44 mm  which is about 0,6 of original Nerf darts… The thickness of the dart has been optimised so it should not require sand paper finish, but if you face problems with dart being to thick for your blaster, just scale-down the X and Y dimensions of the model in the slicer and reprint… Anyways, you can play with it - it is experimental because we can experiment with it and share our findings in comment section…

IMPORTANT and recommended:

  1. always print this dart with 0% infill, other ways it will not be able to load in the blaster.
  2. increasing the number of top layers in slicer increases the weight of the tip - experiment with it.
  3. puncture the lid of the rear hole.
  4. rub whole dart with fine sand paper to remove printing imperfections if it is too thick for your blaster.
  5. you can glue a ring of original NERF dart  foam to the rear end.

Please do not shoot on live things or beings…
