Cap for charging port locking pawl – VW ID.3

Here is a solution for those who want to protect the charging port lock on a VW ID.3.

More specifically, it is a protective cap designed to shield the locking mechanism from rain and snow.

It does not clip or fasten onto the car, but it is designed so it will not easily fall off. This means there is no wear on the vehicle’s mechanical parts, while still providing effective protection.

The eyelet on the top allows you to attach the cap to the charging cable with a string, so you never forget the cap when unplugging.

The material I have used is standard PLA, but it can advantageously be made from a more durable and weather-resistant material.
