Geometric Chinese Heart Ornament - Love & Harmony

This model is a stylized, geometric heart featuring the Chinese character "Ai" (愛), which translates to "Love." I wanted to create something that bridges the gap between traditional calligraphy and modern 3D geometry. It’s not just a flat sign; it has depth and sharp angles that catch the light beautifully, especially if you use a shiny or silk filament.

 

Functional & Decorative

I’ve included a built-in hanging hole at the top. This makes it super versatile—you don’t have to just lean it against a shelf. You can:

• Hang it on a wall using a small nail or command hook.
• Use a ribbon or fishing line to hang it in a window.
• Use it as a large, decorative keychain or bag charm.
• Give it as a meaningful gift for weddings, anniversaries, or Valentine's Day.

Printing Tips (Relax! It's an easy one)

You don't need a PhD in engineering to get this right. It prints quite easily.

• Orient it flat on the bed for the fastest and cleanest results.
• Infill: 10-15% is plenty. It doesn't need to be heavy since it's a decorative piece.
• Wall loops: I'd go with 3 walls just to make the character "pop" and stay sturdy.
• Top layers: Use at least 4-5 top layers to ensure the flat surfaces of the character look smooth and solid.
• Material: Looks amazing in Silk Red (for that traditional Chinese look) or Gold.
• Printing time: Prints fairly fast at 27 minutes.

Printing Note & Quality 

Just a heads-up: the photos of my print look a bit rough because I’m currently battling some over-extrusion issues on my machine. If you see some blobs or messy layers, don't worry—it’s my printer’s fault, not the file. The model geometry is clean and solid, so if your settings are dialed in, it will come out perfect.
