Description
Build plates get dirty over time, and some stains are surprisingly stubborn. They can appear at the bottom of prints and are especially noticeable on light-colored products. A quick fix is to print a thin square sheet over the stained area—peel it off, and most of the residue comes with it.
Printing a full-plate sheet takes time, but it becomes waste the moment it leaves the bed. Instead of tossing it, I added a few holes and slits and turned it into an origami pinwheel (see images for assembly). It’s a bit large to spin by blowing, but waving your hand works fine, and it can even be hung by a window.
Scale it to fit your build plate. Just tune the layer height to ensure the sheet is sliced into at least two layers, which improves strength and layer bonding.
