Description: Bring your fish tank to life with this realistic rock stone wall background. The intricate texture mimics natural stone cliffs, adding significant depth and a professional look to any freshwater or saltwater setup.
This system is modular. Scale it up and print multiple panels, you can cover the back of larger tanks. The deep relief looks fantastic under aquarium lighting, creating realistic shadows and highlights.
Included Files & Dimensions: The design is provided in two convenient square sizes to allow for flexible arrangements in various tank dimensions:
- Large Panel: 250mm x 250mm (approx. 9.8" x 9.8")
- Small Panel: 150mm x 150mm (approx. 5.9" x 5.9")
Tip: You can easily scale these in your slicer or cut them digitally to fit exact dimensions if needed.
Print Settings:
- Material: Only use filaments that are "Aquarium Safe" or "Food Safe" for long-term submersion.
- PETG is highly recommended as it is generally durable, water-resistant.
- Standard PLA may degrade over time in water.
- Orientation: Prints best standing upp
- Supports: No supports are needed.
- Layer Height: A height of 0.2mm works well, but 0.16mm will provide even finer detail on the rock texture.
- Infill: 5-20% infill is sufficient.
Installation & Post-Processing:
- Preparation: Ensure the printed parts are clean and free of any stringing.
- Coloring (Optional): The raw grey print looks great (as seen in the photos), but you can paint it with aquarium-safe epoxy paints or acrylics sealed with aquarium-safe epoxy resin for a custom look.
- Mounting: Because 3D prints are buoyant, you must secure the panels to the back glass of your empty, dry aquarium. Use 100% Aquarium-Safe Silicone sealant. Apply generous dabs of silicone to the back of the panel and press firmly against the glass.
- Curing: Let the silicone cure completely according to the manufacturer's instructions (usually 24-48 hours) before adding water and fish.
