Description

Hello I present to you my view on soldering helper inspired by omnifixo.

 

There are two versions one made with bambustore hardware and other with Aliexpres hardware.

bellow you will see BOM and instructions for both versions

 

Update 

I've added new version of base for Bambulab hardware version. this one uses Screw to put pressure on balljoint

Bambustore version

Needed hardware:

  • M3x4x30 (5PCS) - AA127
  • 0.4x5x40 mm (5PCS) - BB013
  • 2x25 mm Stainless Steel Dowel Pins (20PCS) - DA002
  • 5x10 magnet → link
  • 4mmx5mm silicone tube → link 
  • steel plate → local supplier

Needed tools:

  • 4mm drill
  • 2mm drill
  • pliers
  • exactor knife
  •  3D printer 😉

Assembly:

Collect all parts and tools. If you don't want to use silicone tubing spacer will not be needed. 

During printing you need to insert magnet into a base. 

In my print profile there is pause in g-code for that

Clean ball from brim residue

in bottom arm (one with both holes going thru) use drill to get holes to perfect diameter. Move drill back and forward thru a hole and check with screw and dowel if they move freely.

Don't overdo this step, check constantly! 

 

Optional step:
put on silicone tube on both arms
Hamer in dowel. you can use bottom arm as a guide to make it more straight,
  • Put screw into upper arm. 
  • If you are using silicone tube Place spacer on screw.
  • Put second arm on screw.
  • Put spring on screw.
  • Screw in ball while compressing a spring

 

 

Put arm assembly into base. This step is really hard as i wanted good friction. I hope someone will create better base for that 😉
Use it

Aliexpress version

Need hardware:

  • M4x30mm-6mm extension screw → link
  • M4x6mm screw → link
  • threaded steel ball → link
  • 5x10 magnet → link
  • 3x10 magnet → link
  •  M2x25mm steel dowel → link
  • spring → link
    • 0.6mm wire
    • 30mm length
    • 8mm outer diameter
  • 4mmx5mm silicone tube → link 
  • steel plate → local supplier

Needed tools:

  • 4mm drill
  • 2mm drill
  • pliers
  • exactor knife
  •  3D printer 😉

Assembly:

  • Put long screw into upper arm.
  • Secure upper arm with short screw from the top. 

     

 

 

  • If you are using silicone tubes place on spacer
  • Place back bottom arm
  • Place spring on shaft
  • Screw in steel ball

     

Put assembly on base and use it
