Geometric Circle Twist - 2D to 3D Optical Art

Transform a flat 2D print into a mesmerizing 3D kinetic sculpture! This model creates a stunning optical illusion of a shape collapsing into itself (Tesseract-style). It’s the perfect hanging decoration that showcases the unique possibilities of 3D printing.

Features:

  • 2D to 3D Transformation: Prints completely flat and gains its complex 3D shape through a simple manual twist.
  • Optical Illusion: The repeating pattern creates a deep "endless" effect.
  • Dual-Color: Looks amazing with dual-color/silk filaments or by using the multi-color profile to emphasize the geometric lines.
  • Stackable Design: Features a small integrated loop at the bottom, allowing you to stack multiple units or hang additional small low weight decorations.

Available Sizes & Profiles:

  • Medium Version: Optimized for Bambu Lab A1 mini.
  • Large Version: Maximized for standard build plates (256x256mm).
  • S̴m̴a̴l̴l̴ ̴s̴i̴z̴e̴:̴ Not available, as the object deforms too much when twisted; reducing the twist to a half-turn does not achieve the desired visual effect.
  • Multi-color Printing: Multi-color profiles include a custom-sized prime tower to ensure everything fits perfectly on your heatbed.

Assembly Instructions:

  • Insert the hook of the rod into the center hole and push it through.
  • Rotate the Rod exactly one full turn (360°) to create the twist.
  • Snap the top loop (the square one) onto the pin located on the Rod .
  • Flattening: If you disassemble the model, it stays slightly deformed, place it back on a heated bed (approx. 50°C) and put something flat and heavy on top (works with another build plate). It will become perfectly flat again!
  • Handle with care: Repeated assembly/disassembly is not recommended as the thin plastic loops may weaken or snap over time.

Print Settings:

  • First Layer: Ensure good bed adhesion for the fine lines.
  • Material: PLA works.
