Description
The need came to replace the stock drain tubes for a 1986 Jaguar X series and with some adjustments to the print settings, was able to design and print these parts successfully with materials exceeding the 125C OEM standard for under-the-hood- components. I printed with supports which came out relatively easy with some needle nose pliers. After printing, I used a hole saw bit and drill press ( two different sizes) to clear out the slight overhang on the interior of the drain pipe and did so with ease. You may be able to edit the file to clear that up. Part number it replaces is BD46543.
Filament: PC-CF ( im sure PC works well)
Nozzle Temp: 290-300C
Bed Temp:100C (preheat)
slowed volumetric print speed to 12.5mm 3/s
made some adjustments to the cooling to reduce exhaust fan to 20% when printing and 30% upon completion, 30% aux fan speed, 0% threshold for over hang cooling, 20% fan speed for overhangs, ambient chamber temperature 50C
Hardened steel 0.6mm nozzle with layer height of 0.25mm
Due to the item not being under pressure I found it best to print vertically with the larger end on the build plate with supports.
If you’d like to send a tip thank you
