Choose Your Version:
I have included three different models so you can choose the perfect balance between print time and rigidity. The functionality and the friction-fit lid remain the same across all versions:
- 3-Wall Version (Rigid): The most robust model. The walls do not flex, providing maximum protection for your drive.
- 2-Wall Version (Balanced): The "Sweet Spot." Prints in 2 hours and uses 46g of filament. Offers great stability with minimal flex.
- 1-Wall Version (Ultra-Light): The "Economy" choice. Prints in just 1.5 hours and uses only 19g of filament. Perfect for bulk archiving where weight and cost are the priority.
Recommended Print Settings:
- Printer: Any (FDM)
- Layer Height: 0.2mm - 0.28mm
- Line Width: 0.4mm (standard) or increase to 0.6mm for extra strength in the 1-wall version.
- Wall Type: Spiralize Outer Contour (Vase Mode) for the main body.
- Material: PLA, PETG, or ABS.
- Bottom Layers: 4-5 layers for a solid, protective base.
Why I made this:
I needed a way to store my extra 3.5" drives without wasting a whole spool of plastic or waiting 6+ hours for a single box. This design is the ultimate "utility print" for anyone with a growing collection of hard drives.
