Silica/Desiccant Container for Cereal & Dry Food Storage (4L)
This desiccant container was custom designed to fit perfectly inside a 4L cereal box bought from Amazon UK. The cereal box was 3D scanned to ensure an exact match, allowing the container to fit without wasting space.
Although the model includes many overhangs, I chose to print it as a single piece to maintain a clean, seamless body rather than splitting it into multiple parts. The rounded section was designed to accommodate one of the largest filament spools (e.g., Bambu Lab spools), so it should comfortably fit most other standard spools as well.
A small integrated knob makes it easy to remove the container from the box.
Print time is approximately 3 hours. The lids fit snugly and are designed not to come off easily, especially important since the container holds a generous amount of loose silica gel.
Printed great in PLA! I went with a vertical orientation so the fan could hit the overhangs directly and keep them clean.
I’m also considering expanding this concept to other storage formats and would love feedback or suggestions for improvements :)
