CyberBug — a low-profile tracked “screw rescuer”

Model showcase:

Assembly video:

https://youtu.be/FdNwS5ZmT9k

CyberBug is a simple, low-profile tracked robot made for driving over different surfaces. Thanks to its very low height, it can crawl under most cabinets, desks, and into other hard-to-reach places.

It uses an FPV camera (the exact type I use) which makes it perfect for “rescuing” small parts from under furniture. I also designed magnetic antennae that help pull out screws and other steel parts — just like in the video.

Key features

  • Low profile = fits under furniture and into tight spaces
  • Tracks = works on many types of terrain
  • FPV camera = live view for precise driving
  • Magnetic antennae = grab screws and small steel items

FPV camera I use: FPV CAMERA

This link is provided only as an example of the exact camera I’m using. I’m not responsible for any AliExpress listings or sellers, and I have no affiliation with them.

To receive the video feed, you will also need an FPV monitor or FPV goggles (video receiver).

Important assembly notes (CyberBrick / power)

  • The camera power must be connected to the servo power rail (servo supply voltage).
  • The 4 pins on the CyberBrick receiver must be gently bent or you can solder 4 wires exactly as shown in the assembly video.
