Assembly Instructions
- Prep the Pipe: Slide the Nut (Part 2) onto the Pipe (Part 1). Ensure the threads are facing the correct direction.
- Install the Pin: Screw the Ball Pin (Part 3) into the end of the Pipe. The nut should remain loose behind the ball for now.
- Finalize the Joint: Snap the LED Disk Holder (Part 4) onto the ball, then secure it by tightening the Nut (Part 2)
- Use the cable clips: This is an optional step to tidy up the USB cable
Pro Tip: This ball joint design allows for smooth, multi-axis movement. If it feels too stiff or too loose, just give the nut a slight turn to adjust the tension. You may also tighten it just enough so it does not move freely but can be adjusted without needing to turn the nut.
Installation on the A1
- Mounting Point: The clamp attaches directly to the pipe bracket located behind the printer's touch screen.
- Adjustment: Position the light to your desired angle. If you need to re-aim, simply loosen the nut slightly, move the disk, and hand-tighten.
- Note on A1 Mini: This model was designed and tested specifically for the full-size A1. Attachment points for the A1 Mini have not yet been verified.
Recommended Print Settings
- Material: Rigid filaments like PLA, PETG, or ABS are recommended.
- Avoid: TPU or other flexible filaments (the ball joint requires rigidity to hold its position).
- Supports: Please do not alter any printing settings on the 3mf file, as there are lots of custom detailed supports.
