Description
The 726 series locomotives (until 1987 the T 444.1 series) were Czechoslovak diesel locomotives with hydrodynamic power transmission intended for shunting and lighter line service in passenger and freight transport. This series was derived from the older 725, compared to which it is equipped with a heating unit for heating the sets and several other changes were made to the design of the entire machine. The 726 series was developed by the ČKD Praha company, but production was transferred to the Slovak company TS Martin for capacity reasons.
