Description
A fully parametric 3-way connector with adjustable XY angle, Z tilt, and Z azimuth.
Build any 3-arm geometry you need — from standard 90° joints to complex angled spatial connections.
The model can also be configured as a 2-arm connector by aligning one arm with another.
This version allows independent adjustment of all three arms:
XY angle
Angle between the two horizontal arms, measured counter-clockwise in the XY plane.
Tilt Z
Angle measured from the XY plane towards the +Z axis.
– 0° → horizontal
– 90° → vertical
Azimuth Z
Direction of the Z-arm projected into the XY plane.
– 0° → aligned with first XY arm
– xy_angle / 2 → aligned with XY bisector
See the accompanying pdf or post images for a detailed explanation.
From flat Y-splitters to vertical T-joints — and everything in between.
The provided 3MF file includes ready-to-print examples for rods 10 mm in diameter, demonstrating different angle combinations, such as:
The model is written in OpenSCAD and fully parametric.
Tip: reduce the quality value (for example to 10–30) while adjusting angles to speed up preview, and increase it again before exporting the final STL.
Material: PLA or PETG
Nozzle: 0.4 mm
Layer height: 0.2 mm recommended
Supports are required for large tilt configurations.
Flat-bottom mode simplifies printing for angled geometries (xy_angle < 160°).
When using multi-material printing (e.g. PETG support interface with PLA model), expect significantly longer print times due to filament swaps if you use an AMS (but also cleaner print results).
