The inspiration for this pen holder comes from the classic Lissajous curve. By superimposing the trajectories of the parametric equations x = sin(3θ) and y = cos(5θ), rhythmic periodic undulating patterns are formed on the surface of the cylinder. When light passes by, the fine ridges create flowing moire patterns of light and shadow, as if the rhythm of mathematics has been frozen at the fingertips.
