Baseball Glove Break-In Form Shaper

This glove form is designed to help shape and maintain a consistent, game-ready pocket in your baseball or softball glove. The goal is simple: encourage a natural funnel shape so the ball tracks into the pocket more reliably, helping improve control and ease of catching.

The design follows a well-established glove-shaping method used by players for years — creating a controlled “hourglass” style pocket that helps the glove close naturally around the ball. This model was designed from scratch and optimized specifically for 3D printing, giving you a durable, reusable tool that works with common break-in techniques.

How it works

• Insert the form into the glove pocket
• Wrap the glove with a belt, strap, or band to hold shape
• Leave overnight or during storage to help train the pocket shape

Optional: some players combine this with traditional break-in methods (light heat, conditioning, or steam). If you plan to use heat, PETG or similar is recommended. PLA works great for normal shaping and storage use.

Design notes

• Symmetrical design — works for both left-hand and right-hand gloves
• Native scale fits well in a 12.5" pattern outfield glove (shown in photos)
• Scale up or down to match your glove size or preferred pocket depth
• Smooth, print-friendly geometry — no supports required

Printing suggestions

• PLA: great for standard use
• PETG or similar: recommended if heat or warm break-in methods are used
• Consider fuzzy skin to add a grippy texture

This is a simple tool, but small improvements in glove shape can make a noticeable difference — sometimes one catch makes the difference.
