StickerSlideTag: The Simple, Parametric Labeling System

StickerSlideTag is a streamlined, two-part labeling system designed to clip onto dowels of any size. While I originally developed this to organize my filament racks, it’s a versatile solution for any space where you have a rod or dowel that needs a clear label.

How it Works

The system consists of two simple components:

  1. The Connector: Snaps securely onto your dowel using a pressure fit.
  2. The Sticker Plate: Slides into the connector via a dovetail joint, providing a flat surface for your label.

Full Customization

This model is fully parametric, making it easy to resize for different dowel diameters or sticker dimensions.

  • On MakerWorld: Just hit the Customize button to tweak the dimensions directly in your browser.
  • Advanced Users: Download the Fusion file to make more granular adjustments.

Printing Recommendations

To get the best results, please keep the following in mind:

  • Material: I strongly recommend PETG over PLA. PETG’s natural flexibility and durability allow the pressure fit to grip the dowel without snapping.
  • Build Plate: Use a smooth plate rather than a textured one. A textured surface creates a rough finish on the sticker plate, which can prevent labels from adhering properly. A smooth plate ensures a clean, flat surface for maximum stickiness.

Labeling Tips

I personally use a Brother QL-800 for printing my labels. However, if you don’t own a label printer yet, you can find very affordable options on AliExpress that work perfectly for this setup.
