Description

Spool core for Bambu lab reuseable spools.  RFID Tag compatible, filament runout compatible.

  • Compatible with Bambu RFID tags.
    • Slip the RFID tag into the recess prior to installing on reuseable spool.
    • Re-use your Bambu RFID tags. I recommend labelling the color and material on the RFID tag.

  • Filament runout compatible
    • The end of the filament goes into the cavity on the spool core.  This is secure enough to hold the filament for winding.
    • No tape to get stuck, no bent ends to clip
    • filament will self-release at the end, triggering filament runout detection.

I recommend printing this out of ABS.  4 walls, no supports, interior brim.  ABS will not warp when drying rolls of PLA or PETG.

I tried printing modified rolls, different cores, filament clip adapters and RFID adapters. This is a simple reuseable core that slips onto existing Bambu Spools and lets you reuse RFID tags and self-releases the filament at the end.  I label my RFID tags and keep them in a bin so I can respool filament and have the AMS auto detect it.  I also like using these cores on my other printers because I know the end of the filament is not taped down or bent.

No tape or modifications required.  Slips onto a standard Bambu reuseable spool.  It should also work on Bambu style spools.
