Added a new print profile with improved coloring and Punch's friend in orange, retaining same printing setting for easier support removal (V3).
Added a new print profile to include a key ring version of the model and improved support settings for easier removal (V2).
The viral story of Punch refers to a young Japanese macaque that was seen alone after being rejected by its mother and not fully accepted by the troop. Videos and photos circulated widely because people were moved by how vulnerable and isolated the little monkey appeared. The story resonated with many as a reminder of how harsh social dynamics in nature can be, and how strongly we empathise with stories of resilience and belonging.
When I learned about Punch’s story, I was deeply moved, as many people around the world were. Unfortunately, there isn’t anything I can do directly to help, but his story felt like a powerful reminder of how harsh nature can be — and how, in many ways, similar dynamics can exist in human life as well.
I truly hope the little monkey will be okay and that nature will find its balance. In the meantime, I decided to create a model inspired by Punch as a personal reminder — and hopefully for others too — that even when things feel difficult, love, resilience, and hope can prevail. That we can hold onto small symbols, like he does with his toy, to stay afloat, keep faith, and continue moving forward.
I will also upload upon requests:
The selected settings prioritise quality over speed.
Designed primarily as a decorative piece, but there is also a keyring/keychain version at plate 2 (you can re-scale if prefer it smaller or bigger).
Have fun printing — and keep hope, kindness, and love in the universe 🤍
