The Ghoul, Dark Knight Helmet,
Â
This was my first go at designing a helmet in nomad and can say I am very happy on how it turned out. It fit the visor worked and it felt like a cool bad guy, nomad kind of character that you would see in a movie or video game. the second one I made after this is more a traditional looking one more in the fantasy world but they both turned out great and for my first full helmets I couldn't be happier! so I hope you guys like them as much as I do!
- This helmet is sized to my head to please be aware!!!!!!!
- My head measurements are 23 inches around my hat size would be 7 3/8. my front to back axis measures 8 inches and the side-to-side measures at 6 inches
- reference Budwins head sizes he heads 1-4 and mine measures the head size #3 which if you have made any of his masks or helmets on here, they are usually sized to the #3 head. just a helpful guide if you need sizing options.
- I have left around a half inch of room on the inside for padding, I have added ½ inch thick cosplay foam in mine which is a thick dense foam so if you have a softer, thicker foam you would be fine.
- it is a little tight around the strap area so be aware****** I have to back crown of my head to get on comfortably but fits fine once on so be aware of that.
- It prints in two parts the main helm part I posted two to choose from, one with supports in the middle of the dome and one without, I print my helmets without because you have less chance of the print failing is the middle support breaks the whole helm fails. mine printed just fine without the support and saved about 2 hours in print time and filament. but choose what you are most comfortable with.
- there is a side pin lock on the right side that locks the visor in place to it does not move when wearing the helm. simply pull out a little on the right side when locked and it will pop out and you can lift the visor.
- the visor just pops on the two pegs on the side of the helmet, and you are good to go.
- measure correctly and have fun with it!
