• Or simply as a fun decorative photo frame
Turn someone special into the hero of their own comic cover.
This initial release includes 3 different comic cover designs that transform your photo into a fun superhero-style magazine cover. Blank template models will be uploaded soon for customisation.
Most of the frames are designed for square photos cropped from a 3R print.
3R size reference:
3.5 × 5 inches (89 × 127 mm)
Photo slot sizes:
• Real Life Hero model: 93 mm × 93 mm (larger square photo)
• All other models: 87 mm × 87 mm (square crop from a 3R photo)
The larger window on the Real Life Hero version allows for a slightly bigger photo area, while the other designs are sized for a square crop from a standard 3R print.
The colour schemes are fully customisable.
You can easily change the colours in your slicer to create completely different looks depending on the occasion or personal style.
Each frame includes 6 magnet slots.
In most situations 4 magnets (one at each corner) will already provide enough holding strength.
Supported magnet sizes:
• 10 × 3 mm magnets
• 8 × 4 mm magnets
The magnet pockets are slightly tolerant, so slightly smaller magnets will still work.
The backplate locks them in place and prevents magnets from falling out.
The frame is printed in three main parts:
• Comic cover faceplate
• Magnet body
• Photo frame cover
The comic cover faceplate fits into the magnet body and will require a small amount of superglue to secure it in place.
The photo frame cover is designed to snap into place, allowing you to easily insert or replace the photo when needed.
The backplate is designed to sit fully flush.
If it does not sit flush, the plate is likely inserted incorrectly — simply flip it over.
⚠️ If printing with matte filament, take extra care when fitting the parts together as matte materials can sometimes be more brittle.
All designs are printable using a 0.4 mm nozzle, but due to the fine details:
⭐ 0.2 mm nozzle is strongly recommended
The upload includes two faceplate print profiles:
• 0.2 mm nozzle profile – recommended for best details
• 0.4 mm nozzle profile – faster print but reduced detail
With the 0.4 mm profile, the print will still look good overall, but finer elements such as the barcode may appear slightly smudgy or less defined.
If you don't mind a slightly worn comic print look, the 0.4 mm version works fine and prints faster.
Backplates can be printed using 0.4 mm nozzle without any issues.
