Makerworld has significantly reduced the download/print points awarded to designers. Instead, they have introduced the "Boost" token, which you can apply to models that may not be the most popular (already gaining points from downloads and prints), but are useful or meaningful to you in general. This supports and encourages us, the "losers" (those not focusing on popular themes like Star Wars, car keychains, countless airless balls, etc.), to create more useful or niche designs.

Tube holders/racks are among the most common and abundant items in a laboratory environment. Reaction tubes come in different sizes and require specific holders. Here, I present racks/stands/holders to suit the most common applications in a biological laboratory in the format of Kit Cards. These designs feature materials friendly yet rigid and stable for assembly, easy printing & assembly, and have been tested in actual biomedical labs.

This page holds the models for both 15 mL and 50 mL Falcon tubes, which are the most frequently used centrifuge and storage tubes in the laboratory.

These models are published separately to:

1. Avoid clutter
2. Facilitate easy searching for the correct items
3. Allow convenient potential updates and troubleshooting.

After all, laboratory vessels come in different sizes and variations, so minor adjustments might be needed for individual cases. Just let me know in the comments, and I will try to resolve them.

Background:

Falcon tubes, also known as conical tubes or centrifuge tubes, are a type of laboratory tube commonly used for holding, mixing, and centrifuging liquids or solutions in biomedical research, clinical diagnostics, and other scientific applications. These tubes are typically made of high-quality, transparent polypropylene or polystyrene, which allows for easy visualization of the contents inside.

Falcon tubes have a conical shape with a rounded bottom, which allows for efficient pelleting of suspended particles or cells during centrifugation. They are available in various sizes, ranging from small volumes of a few milliliters to larger volumes of up to 50 milliliters or more. Falcon tubes are designed to withstand high centrifugal forces during centrifugation without leaking or breaking.

These tubes usually feature screw caps or snap caps for secure sealing, preventing sample leakage or contamination. Some Falcon tubes also have graduation marks on the side for accurate measurement of liquid volumes. They are compatible with a wide range of laboratory equipment, including centrifuges, vortex mixers, and automated liquid handling systems.

Overall, Falcon tubes are essential tools in the laboratory for a wide range of applications, including sample storage, cell culture, DNA/RNA isolation, protein purification, and various biochemical assays.

Assembly:
Simply slot the support pillars into the panels. It should be easier than assembling IKEA furniture, and anyone smart enough to be in a lab should have no problem assembling them.
