Description
I made a Japan-inspired konbini book nook — because I genuinely miss Japanese convenience stores.
Boost MeThis model is part of my newly launched Bukkunukku Collection, a series of Japanese-inspired book nooks based on streets, places, and little scenes that capture a specific feeling or emotion. The idea is to recreate tiny atmospheres between books — small places that feel alive, nostalgic, and cozy.
The outer structure of this book nook stays the same, but it’s designed to be modular: you can swap and print the top sign/roof version you like most — Family Mart, 7-Eleven, or Lawson — and customize the inside however you want.
The interior is modular too: you can choose which shelves and modules to print, mix them together, and build your own layout. I modeled a bunch of iconic konbini details and products, including:
☂️ clear umbrellas
🥪 sando sandwiches
🍙 onigiri
🧃 juices
🥞 dorayaki
🐟 taiyaki
🍺 beer
🏧 an ATM
🍗 a fried chicken stand
🚬 a cigarette shelf
🧦 socks
It’s basically a tiny diorama made to fit between books. The whole model is built from separate pieces that are meant to be glued onto the main structure, so assembly stays clean while still giving you plenty of freedom to customize the final look.
Bonus: there’s also a built-in slot/space for lighting, so you can add LEDs and give it that cozy konbini glow ✨
Which version would you pick: Family Mart, 7-Eleven, or Lawson? 🇯🇵📚
Lighting (optional)
This model includes a minimal lighting provision. In my build, I used a few small LEDs connected to batteries and simply fixed them in place with tape. Feel free to adapt it to your preferred LED strip or wiring setup.
Transparent parts (doors / lights / freezer details)
For the transparent-looking parts — sliding doors, light panels, and freezer details — I used transparent PLA with a SILK setting in the slicer.
If you don’t have a silk profile or material, you can get a similar look by printing the doors in light blue and keeping the shelves and racks in plain white.
