💡 Technical Printing Notes (AMS Ready)

This project is optimized for AMS with 4 colors per print.

1. Plate 1:
   • 1x White (to diffuse the light).
   • 1x Black (for frames/letters).
   • 2x Colors of your choice (personalize them by swapping the ones in the project).
   • Pro-tip: Print on a smooth PEI plate for a superior aesthetic finish.
2. Plate 2 (Box): You can use a color already in the project or a new one. I've designed a 1mm internal white layer to maximize light reflection inside the lamp. You can use the same color as the lamp if you want to avoid filament swaps—just select the correct spool in Bambu Studio or Bambu Handy
3. Plate 3 (Cap): Closing cap with a 3mm slot to secure the cable. Not mandatory, but highly recommended.*
4. Plate 4 (Feet): 4 feet for maximum stability. I personally recommend printing them in TPU, but classic silicone adhesive dots or felt pads work perfectly too.

 

Note on Plate 3: If you find the cap too tight or difficult to snap in, do not force it! Please look for the "Small Cap (Easier Fit)" print profile and print that version instead. If it still feels snug, lightly sand the edges of the box opening or scrape them with a hobby knife. Always double-check your printer's flow and tolerances, as slight over-extrusion can easily affect how these snap-fits perform.

 

 

 

⚠️ Crucial Tip for Plate 1 (Name Cover):

Because the name cover is less than 1mm thick and consists of multiple colors, it is very delicate. 

Do not use a spatula or scraper to remove it!
Always wait for the build plate to cool down completely, then remove the plate from the printer and gently flex it. The print should pop off on its own with just a light flex. If you try to pry it off while the plate is hot or force it with a scraper, the color junctions will likely split. 

Please be careful—let the plate do the work!

 

 

 Pro-Tips for Perfect Results:

• Printing Surface: Always print the "Name Cover" face down on a smooth PEI plate to get a flawless, glass-like finish.

   

• Nozzle Choice: For the ultimate level of detail, a 0.2mm nozzle is perfect. It makes the letters and icons look incredibly sharp.

  • Note: Stick to standard PLA or PLA Matte when using the 0.2mm nozzle, as some composite materials (like Silk, Glow, or Wood) can clog it easily.

     

• Optimization Settings (if needed): If you lose the presets, use these settings for Plate 1:
  • Layer Height: 0.16mm (High Quality)
  • Wall Generator: Arachne
  • Wall transitioning threshold angle: 59°
  • Minimum wall width: 70%

  • Minimum feature size: 10%

     

"Make sure your First Layer Flow Ratio is calibrated. Since the text is printed on the plate, a slightly under-extruded first layer can ruin the crispness of the letters."
