Glencairn Blind Tasting Tags

Blind tasting is one of the best ways to train your palate. When the label disappears, your focus shifts to aroma, taste, and finish.

These tags turn a regular pour into a structured tasting. Each tag slides over the stem of a Glencairn glass and labels the glass with a simple A B C D system.

Perfect for comparing bottles, hosting tasting nights, or challenging friends.

Why Use Blind Tasting

When you remove the label, you remove expectations. Price, brand, and reputation stop influencing your perception.

You focus only on what is actually in the glass.

Many whiskey clubs and distilleries use blind tastings for this reason.

Design Approach

These tags were designed with efficient printing and flexibility in mind.

• The letter prints directly on the build plate for sharp edges and clean contrast
• This approach reduces filament changes and saves print time
• Letters come out crisp and consistent even with small text

The tag body is intentionally larger than the letter so you can easily customize it in Bambu Studio.

You can quickly change the letter, symbol, or even add small markings if you want a different tasting system.

Features

• Designed specifically for Glencairn glasses
• Clear A B C D labeling system
• Customizable text area for easy editing in Bambu Studio
• Efficient print orientation for clean lettering and fast prints
• Very low filament use
• Ideal for printing multiple sets quickly
• Works well with PLA and possibly PETG

How to Use

  1. Print the tags.
  2. Slide them onto the stems of your Glencairn glasses. They sit securely with a satisfying click.
  3. Pour different whiskies into glasses A, B, C, and D.
  4. Write tasting notes and guesses.
  5. Reveal the bottles at the end of the tasting.

Tip

Print several sets so you can run larger tastings with 8 or 12 glasses.

Need more than four glasses? Simply clone the model in Bambu Studio and change the letter.

If you have an AMS, printing each letter or tag in a different color makes identification even easier.

Perfect for home bars, whiskey enthusiasts, and tasting events. A small accessory that turns any pour into a proper blind tasting.

If you printed these for a tasting night or your home bar, I would love to see how you used them. Feel free to share photos.
