Description
Refillable Carbon Filter Housing – Modular DIY Air Filter - Air ScrubberÂ
I designed this 3D printable refillable carbon filter as a modular DIY alternative to commercial inline carbon filters.
The goal was to create a reusable filter housing that makers can fill with activated carbon or other filter media, instead of having to replace the whole filter each time. This can be useful for workshop air filtration, resin printing spaces, enclosures, and other custom ventilation projects.
This design includes multiple adapter parts to support different fan sizes, so you can better match it to your own setup. If you need another adapter size that is not included, feel free to reach out and I may be able to design one.
This project is meant for people who enjoy building and customizing their own equipment, while keeping replacement costs lower over time.
You can fit just about 4Lbs of activated carbon inside. Â

If you print one, I’d love to see your build and hear what setup you used.
Here’s an even more casual MakerWorld version if you want something a bit friendlier:
DIY Refillable Carbon Filter with Multiple Fan Adapters
I made this refillable carbon filter for makers who want a reusable and customizable air filtration solution.
Instead of replacing a full filter, this design lets you swap out the carbon media and keep using the same housing. It’s a practical option for DIY ventilation projects, resin printing setups, workshops, and other spaces where you want more control over your filtration system.
I included multiple parts for different fan sizes so the design can work with a wider range of setups. If you need an adapter for another fan size, feel free to message me and I may be able to add it.
What’s included
Not included
As with any DIY filtration project, results will depend on how well the parts are printed and sealed, as well as the media and airflow used.
