Description

Bring the charm of high-end boutique decor to your nursery or kid's room without the "fragile" price tag!

I designed this letter set when my wife showed me the beautiful, glossy, and EXPENSIVE ceramic letters she wanted to buy for our new baby's nursery. Thankfully I was able to design a very similar result and attain a similar finish with some sanding and painting. Whether you’re spelling out a full name for the wall or adding some initials to a bookshelf, these models should work perfectly. You can select the letters you need and change the size however you'd like. And because these are lightweight and far less fragile, they are safer and easier to mount (command strips or 3M tape worked great).

Print Instructions

  • Open the file in Bambu Studio.
  • Delete the letters you do not need.
  • Select all of the remaining letters and resize them as needed.
  • Use the “Arrange All Objects” function to rearrange the remaining letters for printing.
  • Slice and Print!

Paint Instructions

While I was very happy with the finish I was able to achieve with adaptive layer heights in this project, we elected to paint them to get the colors we needed. (My cover photo is rendered, but the gallary includes pictures of both unfinished prints and prints I painted). Here is the process I used in case you'd like to duplicate my results.

  • After printing, sand with sandpaper progressing from low grit to high grit. (I used 100-180-220)
  • Clean thoroughly.
  • Paint with Primer ( I used Rustoleum 2-in-1 Automotive Primer)
  • After primer is dry, sand again with 400 grit sandpaper.
  • Clean thoroughly again.
  • Paint with 3-4 coats of your preferred paint, (I used Rustoleum 2X in a Satin).
  • Finish with 3-4 coats of clear coat, (I used Rustoleum 2X in Gloss).
