🦎 Axolotl with Glass Eyes – Detailed Eye-Catcher (AMS & Single Color)

This axolotl is designed as a detailed figure and immediately draws attention. The standout feature is the use of glass eyes, which give it an incredibly lifelike and almost “real” expression.

The model comes in two versions: a two-color variant, which is especially suited for AMS printing (H2D / H2C recommended) and allows for clean color separation between body and gills, and a single-color version. The latter works great with dual-color filaments, creating beautiful shifting effects depending on the lighting.

For the two-color print profiles, the gills have already been manually color-painted by me, so you can start printing right away. However, if you only download the STL file and not the 3MF file, you will need to assign the colors yourself in the slicer – this takes a bit more time, but works just as well.

A real highlight of this model is the eyes. It is designed to fit 10 mm or 6 mm glass eyes by default, but can easily be scaled to also fit 8 mm or 12 mm sizes. The glass eyes are easy to find on platforms like Amazon, AliExpress, or eBay. Depending on your preference, you can customize the look quite a bit: dragon eyes give it a more mystical appearance, while classic “googly-style” eyes make it look extra cute.

Printing is kept simple and reliable. With a layer height of 0.2 mm, three walls, and about 7% infill using a cross pattern, you’ll get clean results. Only minimal supports are required, limited to a small area under the lower gills, and they are very easy to remove.

Thanks to its easy printability and the expressive glass eyes, this model is perfect as a decoration, gift, or collectible piece.

🦎 Axolotl mit Glasaugen – Detailreicher Hingucker (AMS & Single Color)

Dieser Axolotl ist als detailreiche Figur gestaltet und zieht sofort alle Blicke auf sich. Das Besondere sind die eingesetzten Glasaugen, die ihm einen erstaunlich lebendigen und fast schon „echten“ Ausdruck verleihen.

Das Modell gibt es in zwei Varianten: Eine zweifarbige Version, die sich besonders für den Druck mit AMS (H2D / H2C empfohlen) eignet und eine saubere Trennung zwischen Körper und Kiemen ermöglicht, sowie eine einfarbige Version. Letztere funktioniert hervorragend mit Dual-Color-Filamenten und sorgt je nach Lichteinfall für spannende Farbeffekte.

Bei den zweifarbigen Druckprofilen sind die Kiemen von mir bereits händisch farblich markiert bzw. „bemalt“, sodass du direkt losdrucken kannst. Falls du jedoch nur die STL-Datei verwendest und nicht die 3MF-Datei lädst, musst du diese Zuordnung selbst im Slicer vornehmen – das ist etwas zeitaufwendiger, aber natürlich ebenfalls möglich.

Ein echtes Highlight sind die Augen. Standardmäßig passt das Modell für 10 mm oder 6 mm Glasaugen, lässt sich aber problemlos skalieren, sodass auch 8 mm oder 12 mm verwendet werden können. Die Glasaugen sind leicht erhältlich, zum Beispiel über Amazon, AliExpress oder eBay. Je nach Geschmack kannst du hier stark variieren: Drachenaugen verleihen dem Axolotl einen mystischen Look, während klassische „Glubschaugen“ ihn besonders niedlich wirken lassen.

Der Druck ist unkompliziert gehalten. Mit einer Schichthöhe von 0,2 mm, drei Wänden und etwa 7 % Infill in Kreuzstruktur erhältst du ein sauberes Ergebnis. Supports werden nur minimal benötigt und beschränken sich auf einen kleinen Bereich an den unteren Kiemen, wo sie sich sehr leicht entfernen lassen.

Durch die Kombination aus einfacher Druckbarkeit und den lebendigen Glasaugen eignet sich das Modell perfekt als Deko, Geschenk oder kleines Sammlerstück.
