Toddler-Proof Balloon Car
Most 3D-printed balloon cars shatter easily. This model should survive toddler abuse (for a little longer than others, at least, just let me know if your toddler is worse than mine). Perfect for parties and giving out to friends!
Key Features:
- High Durability: Designed to withstand drops, steps, and wall impacts without shattering into sharp, dangerous pieces.
- Optimized Nozzle: The internal air channel converges from a 12mm intake to a 3.9mm exhaust. This restricts mass flow, converting a useless half-second burst into sustained, controlled thrust.
- Lightweight & Hardware-Free: Weighs just 12 grams. Uses only three types of printed parts (chassis, wheels, hubcaps) with no metal hardware required.
- Good lung training: Depending on the age of your offspring this toy could enhance your lung capacity by 5 to 10% after a few days (not verified by a third party).
Printing & Assembly:
- Material: Print in PETG. It absorbs impacts far better than brittle PLA and won't warp when washed in warm water.
- Assembly: The axles feature a keyed D-shape. Align the internal cutout on the hubcaps with the flat side of the axle before pressing them on. They snap in place with some force, but a drop of glue is recommended for a more permanent hold.
Hygiene Warning: 3D-printed layer lines are porous and harbor bacteria from saliva. Since children often blow directly into the exhaust, wash the car frequently in warm water. Alternatively, use a standard hand pump to inflate the balloon.
Feedback: If your balloons are weird (or different than mine) and the car doesn't work, drop me a message and I can add a new profile with different hole sizes.
