🆕 Update: Alternative Lid Profile Added

Based on community feedback, a new Alternative Lid (No Print-in-Place Hinge) profile has been added for users who experienced difficulties printing the original print-in-place hinge.

 

The new lid maintains the same fit, functionality, and compatibility as the original design but uses a simple 1.75 mm filament pin for assembly. Existing users can print the new lid without reprinting the bin.

 

⚠️ Alternative Lid Profile: Before printing the full lid, print the test pieces on Plate 3 to verify the fit of the 1.75 mm filament hinge pin. Printer tolerances and material expansion vary. 0.1mm will work for most printer.

 

• If the filament is difficult to insert, increase X-Y Hole Compensation by 0.05 or 0.10 mm and re-test.

• If the filament is loose or the lid has excessive play, reduce X-Y Hole Compensation by 0.05 mm.

Printing the test pieces first can save significant time and filament while ensuring a smooth hinge fit.
