Dual diffuser LED lithophane frame designed to eliminate LED hotspots and produce smoother lithophane lighting.

Bring your photos to life with this LED backlit lithophane display frame, designed specifically for 135mm x 100mm lithophanes.

This frame uses a dual diffuser lighting system, placing two diffuser layers between the LED source and the lithophane. This greatly improves light distribution and helps remove harsh LED hotspots, allowing the fine details of the lithophane image to appear clearer and more evenly illuminated.

To improve durability and support different lighting setups, the design also includes a recessed rear back plate. This creates a protected cavity for LED strips while adding extra structural strength to the frame.

The result is a sturdy and clean display frame that produces soft, balanced illumination while securely supporting your lithophane.

Assembly

1. Print all frame components.
2. Insert the two diffuser panels into the diffuser channels.
3. Place your 135mm x 100mm lithophane in front of the diffusers.
4. Install your LED strip inside the recessed rear lighting channel.
5. Attach the back plate and assemble the frame.

Once assembled, the dual diffuser system creates a soft, evenly lit display that enhances lithophane detail.

Notes

The two-layer diffuser system combined with the recessed LED cavity helps produce smoother lighting compared to standard single-diffuser frames.

This allows the frame to work well with different LED strip types while maintaining consistent illumination across the lithophane.

 

Tip: For best results, print your lithophane using white PLA with standard lithophane print settings for maximum detail and contrast.
