Description
Hello Makers! 👋 I'm thrilled to share with you "Qinglong: Soul of the Dragon". 🐉 For this sculpture, I drew direct inspiration from the majestic and legendary figure of the Azure Dragon. With this model, I wanted to capture the harmony of this ancient Eastern guardian as it merges and comes to life within pristine nature.
The idea was to create a dynamic and powerful dragon that twists and intertwines through ancient, gnarled branches. 🌿 Not just a dragon resting on a tree, but an ancestral creature breathing in unison with the forest it protects. 🌬️ Its coils wrap around and blend with the ancient wood, culminating in stylized, layered foliage that almost resembles floating clouds, typical of Eastern iconography. ☁️ It's an exploration of movement, where the flaming lines of the creature merge with the centuries-old stillness of the bonsai.
I chose the name "Qinglong" (the Azure Dragon of the East) because, in Chinese mythology, it is historically associated with spring, rebirth, and the Wood element. 🌳 This connection makes its fusion with the bonsai tree not only visually striking but conceptually profound. The subtitle "Soul of the Dragon" emphasizes that the forest itself is infused with the essence of this millennial creature.
I devoted a lot of care to refining the details to create strong visual contrasts:
Dear Makers, this model is full of intricate details. 🐉🌳 To best preserve the beauty of the scales, horns, branches, and stylized foliage, please pay the utmost attention and care when removing supports.
Take your time and be gentle during the clean-up phase so as not to ruin the printer's hard work. I highly recommend using tree supports or water-soluble ones (if you have the option) and exercising a lot of patience. 🧘♂️✂️ I assure you, the final result is worth every minute spent!
I hope you love this model and enjoy printing it. It's a great printing challenge, but the final effect is truly magical! 🎨 Please share your photos of the finished prints, I would absolutely love to see them! 👋 Thanks from OMBRA3D.
