Lamelleon Parametric Lamellar Armor Plates w/ Jigs

Lamelleon: A Parametric Model Maker for Custom Lamellar Armor Plates.

All you need is some filament and some cord or a needle and thread and you can create your own armor plate by plate.

Print full-size plates for Adult Sized armor or scale down for smaller pieces. (The TPU for AMS brown chestpiece featured is 1/2 size plates (mini) of the Style #1 Plate 1 Print Profile).

All plates in the print profiles are 1mm thick - use the customizer if you want thicker or thinner ones, or different shapes, sizes, or hole combinations.

Updated - Now choose .3mf or .stl in the customizer to start with any of the Style/Plates!

Now both .3mf files (by build plate) and .stl files in the customizer - there is a version to start with the settings for each Lamelleon Armor Plate for each Style.

Jig for Printing on Plates: Note that the .stl starts with the jig off, and the .3mf starts with it on (just toggle it in the parameters or make it the size you want).

Start by Printing out 12 plates of your choice to see how lamellar armor works - 3 rows of 4 plates. Enjoy a fun afternoon of making a small section.

• 1.5mm Holes for sewing thread (Style #1 mini (50% size))
• 3 mm Holes for 1.5mm cord (Style #1 and #4)
• 5-6mm Holes for Paracord (Styles #2 and #3)

Create Your Own Plates and Shapes.

You can modify size, corners, and holes in many ways with this model. Be sure that the hole spacings are consistent with any plates you want to be able to tie together!

Use the calculator from this document once you've decided on your plates to determine how many you need.

Each style has a page for each plate with the settings to put into the Customizer. Use these as a basis for your creations or create your own!

Jigs for Printing

I've added the ability to create jigs to hold multiples of the plates for UV Printing, etc. Turn the jig on and customize in the customizer at the bottom of the variable list. (jig is off by default in the .stl version and on plate two by default in the .3mf version).

This is a project I am actively working on and will note here when I have published it.

I have been working intensely on this project and will continue to work on supporting materials, such as how to connect different styles of plates and how to use dye to expand the colors. I love using the TPU for AMS for this, since it is incredibly strong - but remember, these are not real armor! The TPU makes them very light and flexible, mimicking leather lamellar armor, but all kinds of filament can be used for these. Enjoy!
