Description
This modular blocking system includes a suite of geometric shapes—classic squares, high-density circles, and radial frames—specifically engineered for fiber arts. Each board features a precision-drilled grid compatible with both 3D-printed pegs and 4mm metal rods, offering a professional-grade solution for shaping handmade projects of any geometry.
Usage
Perfect for "blocking" crochet and knit projects, these boards ensure your work achieves its intended shape and size. The square boards are ideal for standard granny squares, while the circular and radial designs are specifically crafted for mandalas, doilies, and round motifs. Use the 4mm metal rods for high-tension blocking or the printed pegs for quick, daily projects.
Printing Suggestions
Filament: PLA for standard use; PETG or ABS if using steam-blocking techniques to prevent warping.
Infill: 20% Grid or Honeycomb for high compressive strength.
Top/Bottom Layers: Use at least 4 layers to create a smooth, snag-free surface for your yarn.
Tolerance: If pegs are too tight, adjust your "Horizontal Expansion" setting in the slicer by -0.1mm.
Assembly Instructions
Select the board shape that best fits your project’s geometry. For large or heavy items, the framed square boards can be used in tandem to extend your workspace. Simply insert your pegs or 4mm rods into the desired layout, slide your damp crochet work over the pins, and allow it to dry to set the final shape.
