Universal RV/Caravan Awning Rail End Cap - Rimor & More

 

This is a 3D-printable replacement for the Awning Rail End Cap (also known as a Beading End Cap or Moulding End Guard), a common component found on many motorhomes and caravans.

Its primary function is to secure the rubber screw-cover strip (insert trim) inside the aluminum rail, preventing it from sliding out due to wind, vibrations, or heat expansion.

Compatibility

While I personally designed and tested this for a Rimor Europeo, this specific profile is a universal fit for many modern RV brands (such as Trigano group models, Roller Team, Chausson, etc.) that use standard aluminum edge moldings.

Print Settings & Recommendations

• Material: ABS or ASA is highly recommended. Do not use PLA, as it will deform under direct sunlight and outdoor temperatures.
• Walls/Infill: Use at least 3-4 wall loops and 20-30% infill for durability against the tightening screw.
• Orientation: Print it on its side or "standing up" (as shown in the photos) for the best structural integrity around the screw hole.
• Post-Processing: I suggest applying a small dab of butyl sealant behind the cap and in the screw hole during installation to ensure a watertight seal for your camper's wall.

Why 3D Print this?

These plastic caps often become brittle and yellow over time due to UV exposure. This model allows you to replace them easily and keep your camper looking new without searching for hard-to-find original spares.
