Description
Universal RFID Tag Clip for Sunlu Spool
The problem also arises that different tag shapes are used with filaments, requiring a separate clip for each one.
The RFID housing measures 24 x 2.9 mm. It can accommodate RFID tags up to 22 mm in diameter, and smaller ones as well.
If you print the RFID housing in ASA or ABS, you can chemically weld it using acetone. Dip the side with the groove into a shallow dish of acetone, place it on top of the other side, and clamp it together with one-handed clamps.
Superglue also works, but I find it more time-consuming.
It's important that the housing is printed with a layer height of 0.15 mm (the object settings are already configured this way); otherwise, the centering groove on the top part for the bottom part will be missing. The housing also has a fuzzy skin. If you want this, make sure it's also copied when you duplicate objects.
The RFID tag clip has a hole on the back so you can easily remove the RFID tags.
Important:
These settings are for ASA filament. You'll need to adjust them accordingly for other filament types.
Additional:
A dummy housing (coin with hole) has been added so that very thin, foil-wrapped but sturdy tags can simply be clipped on instead of being integrated into a housing (coin). This provides even more options without requiring a different clip for the spool.
