Retro TV Remote Control Holder
This remote control holder is designed to bring a fun, retro aesthetic to your living space while providing practical storage for everyday use. Styled to resemble a classic television with antenna details, it adds a unique visual element to any setup.
The holder accommodates up to four remotes, with each compartment measuring 60W × 35D × 100H mm.
Design Features
- Retro TV-inspired design with antenna detail
- Holds up to 4 remote controls
- Curved screen surface to replicate classic CRT televisions
- Modular design with friction-fit components
- Customisable control panel with multi-colour options
Printing Requirements
- Material: PLA+ but the material used is your choice
- Supports required:
- Minimal tree supports for the top of screen inset
- Small supports for dowel holes (TV body and antenna base)
- Brims or Mouse Ears used to help with bed adhesion
All parts are designed with a 0.2 mm tolerance for friction fit. With a well-calibrated printer, filament, components should assemble without adhesive or require a hammer 😉
Assembly Instructions
*Build in this order
- Insert dowels into the main body first
- Attach the TV base
- Fit Screen
- Fit Control Panel
- Attach antenna base
- Insert antennas into the antenna base
Fitment Notes
- If any of the dowels are too tight:
- reprint & scale dowels to ~99% for easier fitment
- DON'T USE A HAMMER
- Antennas are intentionally a slightly looser fit to allow easy installation & replacement if damaged
- A small amount of adhesive (e.g. hot glue) can be used if a tighter fit is preferred
Customisation
The control panel is sliced in “parts” so it can be easily customised using your slicer:
- Apply multi-colour painting to suit your preferred theme
- A Hilbert Curve top layer pattern is used in the provided profile to create a textured, retro-style finish to the top surface of the Control Panel face without affecting the control knobs & volume slider's surface pattern.
Included Files
- Multi-colour .3mf file configured for PLA and the recommended print settings I used
- .stl files for all individual parts
