I designed this model following a special request from my wife for one of her colleagues who is a huge rugby fan. The goal? To create a fun, interactive, and slightly addictive surprise!
🎯 The Concept
The set includes 50 miniature balls and a specialized Ball-Shaped Storage Box. The idea is simple: hide the 50 tiny balls all over a friend’s house, office, or locker. It’s the ultimate scavenger hunt!
📦 The Storage Box
- Track your progress: The box features exactly 50 slots. It’s easy to see how many balls are still "out in the wild" and how many have been recovered.
- Print-in-Place: No assembly required! The box prints with a functional hinge in one go.
- Unique Design: The box itself is shaped like a large ball, making it a great display piece once the hunt is over.
🛠️ Print Settings
- Mini Rugby Balls: I have included a built-in brim for the mini balls to ensure perfect bed adhesion. Since they are small, this prevents them from moving during the print. They are designed to print without any supports.
- Storage Box: This is a Print-in-Place design with a functional hinge. No supports are required for the box either! Just make sure your printer is well-calibrated for clearances.
- Infill: 10-15% is more than enough for both.
- Material: Works great with standard PLA.
- Scale: You can scale the balls up or down, but they are optimized for this specific box at 100%.
