Overview

Turn your Bambu Lab P1S into a precision drawing machine! This lightweight attachment is specifically designed to hold an Edding 140S permanent pen. It mounts directly to the toolhead, allowing you to "print" drawings, layouts, or labels with high accuracy.

Compatibility

• Printer: Bambu Lab P1S (should also fit P1P and X1C toolheads).
• Pen: Edding 140S (Fine tip).
• Mounting: Snug fit.

How to use (Important):

1. Calibration: Ensure your bed is clean. Use a small offset in your G-code or slicer settings to avoid crushing the pen tip into the build plate.
2. Speed: Recommended drawing speed: 30-60 mm/s for best ink flow.
3. Software: Use "Inkscape" with the "Klipper/G-code" extension or online SVG-to-GCode converters.

Print Settings:

• Material: PLA or PETG (PLA is perfectly fine here).
• Walls: 3-4 wall loops for rigidity.
• Infill: 15-20% (keep it light to avoid putting stress on the toolhead motors).
• Supports: No supports needed.

Hardware & Bill of Materials (BOM):

To build this professional-grade plotter, you will need:

• 1x MGN9 Linear Rail (55mm length) – for smooth vertical movement.
• 1x MGN9 Carriage (MGN9C or MGN9H).
• 3x M3x8mm Screws – to mount the rail to the main body.
• 3x M3 Heat-Set Inserts – for secure and durable threads.
• 4x M3 Screws – to assemble the pen holder (as shown in the photo).
• 1x Pen Spring (approx. 4mm diameter) – sourced from a standard ballpoint pen. It pushes the carriage to the home position.
• 1x Edding 140S Marker – the holder is specifically designed for this diameter.

Assembly & Tuning:

1. Inserts: Use a soldering iron (220-250°C) to press the M3 inserts. 
2. The Spring: Place the 4mm spring in the designated slot before mounting the carriage. It ensures the pen always stays in the correct position.
3. Lubrication: A drop of thin oil on the MGN9 rail will make the movement even smoother.
