Description
This 3D-printable fan mount is designed to improve cooling performance inside the Snapmaker U1 by directing airflow specifically onto the Rockchip and stepper drivers.
The mount supports two 30Γ30Γ10 mm fans (e.g. GDSTime GDA3010, 24V), providing a focused and efficient airflow path to critical components. This helps reduce temperatures during long print jobs, high enclosure temperatures, or when printing demanding materials.
The compact design allows for clean installation while keeping cable routing simple and unobtrusive.
π§ Features
π Optional Configurations
Silent / Low Vibration Mode
For quieter operation, a DC step-down converter can be used to reduce fan voltage (e.g. down to ~10V).
This significantly lowers noise and minimizes resonance.
Temperature-Controlled Operation
You can optionally integrate a thermal switch (50Β°C, Normally Open, 250V 5A).
This allows the fans to automatically turn on only when needed.
βοΈ Additional Cooling Recommendation
For best results, it is highly recommended to use heatsinks on the Rockchip and stepper drivers.
While the fan mount significantly improves airflow, combining it with heatsinks will:
This combination ensures maximum thermal performance and long-term reliability, especially during extended print sessions or in high-temperature environments.
π‘ Why use this?
𧱠Material
Recommended: ABS or ASA
These materials are ideal due to their high temperature resistance and durability, making them suitable for enclosed printer environments and continuous operation near electronics.

π§ Installation & Wiring
There is currently no full video guide for installation.
However, you can follow Snapmakerβs official instructions (e.g. PSU replacement guide) to open the printer until you reach the PSU area.
β οΈ The PSU does not need to be removed β only opened for access.
The mount itself is installed using the two original screws on the right side of the board.

π‘ Installation Tip β Special thanks to @user_3198431580
Before disassembling, move the print bed to a mid-position on the Z-axis.
This allows you to check the clearance between the fan module and the Z-axis guide.
In most cases, no modification is required.
If necessary, a small plastic tab near the Z-axis guide can be slightly trimmed.
