The KYZ Pasta Lite is an awesome spool winder, but I am a bit worried that the Donor Spool Carrier and - Spinner Base will wear out to soon.

I have  remixed the KYZ PASTA Lite Donor Spinner to reduce friction on the vertical shaft, by adding bearings and a smooth innner sleeve to the KYZ Spool Carrier.

If you have already printed the original KYZ Donor Spool Carrier - don't worry. It is compatible.

To reduce friction on the horisontal plane of the Spool Carrier and Spinner Base, I have made this model, that uses the same size bearings:

I previously made that model using larger 22x8x7mm (608) bearings. It is compatible, so no need to print another with smaller bearings, if you already have that.

I have deliberately NOT included the files for the Donor Spool Carrier, but have added the arm from v1.0A1M that connect the Spinner Base to the KYZ PASTA Lite Receiver. You can find that file in the folder Original Files.

Please give credit to the original creator by downloading those files from his model:

How does it work:

The vertical shaft consists of 2 bearing assemblies and a brake assembly. Inside the bearing assembly a bearing pin is inserted to hold the bearings in place. The 3 assemblies are held together by a cap that locks in place. The vertical shaft locks into the base with a twist.

A sleeve is inserted in the original KYZ Spool Carrier. The sleeve rides on the vertical shaft bearings with minimal friction,  apart from the desired friction from the inserted brake pad.

The bearing fixture is finally mounted on the base and a roller plate  is attached under the Donor Spool Carrier.

If you don't have the 696 steel bearings at hand, you can use the 3d-printed 696 bearings instead (remember to grease these bearings). I strongly suggest that you get the ordinary 696 steel bearings. They run quietly and don't wear out.

You can find them here: https://www.aliexpress.com/w/wholesale-6x15x5-bearing.html

After printing the 3 vertical shaft assemblies, you will have to remove the support material at the bottom as well as in the cutouts for the bearings. The videos below shows the assembly.

If you, after having spooled lots of kilos of filament, observe some wear, only a few grams of filament is needed to reprint the sleeve (8.5 grams) and the roller plate (10.5 grams). These parts (and the brake pads) are the only parts that are submitted to friction.
