Description

This is remix of the original model that can be found here

It only covers the single converter mount, not all mounts. I recommend using the single one because the converters have a tendency to get hot and need proper cooling space

For the DAP mount and BOM please refer to the original model

The converters can get up to 60 degrees Celsius so you have to use a high temp material - HT-PLA (after annealing), PETG, AMS/ASA or similar

I have attached a STEP (.step) file so that you can modify it if you need to do so. The original model also has CAD files attached now. I can also send a video of the assembled mounts and a little showcase.

What is changed from the original model

  • Added “ears” for a rubber band (use pictures for reference) that will secure the converter better
  • Made all the walls thicker and added more fillet to the bottom edges of the arms that hold the converter itself
  • Made the mount narrower and shorter because I had too much slack and the mount did not feel secure enough for me
  • Made the holes on the side longer so that the converter can be screwed in no matter its orientation
  • Made the mounting holes on the bottom a slot because I found that the ones on the DAP rack mount are not perfectly spaced out
  • Fixed the bottom square hole (it was not perfectly centered in the original design)

DISCLAIMER:
Depending on your printer tolerances and on the supports you may find that the mount is too short because of the swagging on the overhang parts. If that is your case feel free to contact me and I will modify the model so that it works for your printer
