Description
This interlocking gear set is great for building, fidgeting, or artistic expression. Print a set of 8 and use the tube container with a locking cap for compact yet secure traveling, or print a giftable 7-stack holder with a press-fit top. Snap them, stack them, roll them, make shapes that stay in place, or even use them as a STEM project to create engineering solutions - the possibilities are endless.
Boost MeGive this a boost if you want us to continue making new designs!
Made from scratch in Onshape, the design is fully scalable with no AMS, no glue, no supports required. While the tolerances have been meticulously tested for easy yet secure connections, different filaments, colors, and settings may require extra tuning. For optimal results, I recommend printing two gears first to make sure the fit isn't too tight or too loose, and to roll them all the way around each other a few times to loosen up any debris. PETG is recommended for a combination of maximum durability and flexibility. I do NOT recommend matte or silk filament due to its soft and breakable nature, and please make sure your filament is dry!
If you want to use a filament that requires more/less tolerance due to shrinkage/expansion, the following is the link to my Onshape project with every step of the build: https://cad.onshape.com/documents/1bafef903b8c3dcd6849d764/w/15ab70f286d2590f58adbb46/e/e2075e8ddefb98bae667af0e

I have also included a STEP file if you're unable to use Onshape.
