BAU & MIAO: A Four-Legged Smile for Pieksekisten 🐾✨
A small gesture, a big smile
This project was born with the heart dedicated to the Pieksekisten initiative, a charity project supporting the little warriors at the pediatric oncology clinic in Augsburg, Germany. "Pieksekisten" (reward boxes) are given to children after difficult treatments: a moment of joy to reward their immense courage.
I wanted to create two companions that could literally fit in their hands: BAU (the dachshund) and MIAO (the kitten).
🎨 Design Features
BAU and MIAO are not just figurines, but small instruments of comfort:
- Articulated Body (Flexi): The segmented structure allows children to move, bend, and play with them. This fluid movement acts as a "fidget toy," helping to relieve stress and anxiety during hospital waits.
- Elongated Shape: Perfectly sized to be easily held even by the smallest hands.
- Sweet Expressions: I carefully designed their faces to convey a sense of safety and immediate friendliness.
🛠️ Variants and Technical Details
To make this project truly special, I have included two different aesthetic finishes within the file:
- "SMOOTH" Version: For a clean, modern look that feels silky to the touch.
- "FUZZY" Version: A special surface finish that simulates animal fur. This version offers a unique tactile sensory experience, highly appreciated by children for its realism.
Printing Tips 🖨️
- Supports: Supports have been placed only where strictly necessary and are custom-designed to be extremely easy to remove. However, it is recommended to be careful when removing them from the thinnest parts, specifically the tail and ears, to ensure the integrity of the model.
- Material: High-quality PLA. Vibrant or pastel colors are most welcome!
- Infill: 15-20% for good joint strength and durability.

BAU & MIAO - Un Sorriso a Quattro Zampe per le Pieksekisten 🐾✨
Un piccolo gesto, un grande sorriso
Questo progetto nasce con il cuore rivolto all'iniziativa Pieksekisten, un progetto di beneficenza che sostiene i piccoli guerrieri della clinica oncologica pediatrica di Augusta, in Germania. Le "Pieksekisten" sono scatole dei premi che i bambini ricevono dopo trattamenti difficili: un momento di gioia per premiare il loro immenso coraggio.
Ho voluto creare due compagni che possano stare letteralmente nelle loro mani: BAU (il bassotto) e MIAO (il gattino).
🎨 Caratteristiche del Design
BAU e MIAO non sono semplici statuine, ma piccoli strumenti di conforto:
- Corpo Articolato (Flexi): La struttura a segmenti permette ai bambini di muoverli, piegarli e giocarci. Questo movimento fluido funge da "fidget toy", aiutando a scaricare lo stress e l'ansia durante le attese in clinica.
- Forma Allungata: Perfetti per essere impugnati facilmente anche dai più piccoli.
- Espressioni Dolci: Ho studiato i volti per trasmettere sicurezza e simpatia immediata.
🛠️ Varianti e Dettagli Tecnici
Per rendere questo progetto davvero speciale, ho incluso all'interno del file due diverse finiture estetiche:
- Versione "LISCIA": Per un look pulito, moderno e setoso al tatto.
- Versione "FUZZY": Una speciale lavorazione superficiale che simula il pelo degli animali. Questa versione offre un'esperienza sensoriale tattile unica, molto apprezzata dai bambini per il suo realismo.
Consigli per la Stampa 🖨️
- Supporti: I supporti sono stati posizionati solo nei punti strettamente necessari e sono stati progettati ad hoc per essere rimossi con estrema facilità. Si consiglia comunque di prestare un po' di attenzione durante la rimozione nelle parti più sottili, in particolare la coda e le orecchie, per garantire l'integrità del modello.
- Materiale: PLA di alta qualità. Colori vivaci o pastello sono i benvenuti!
- Riempimento (Infill): 15-20% per una buona robustezza delle articolazioni.
