Description
Designed this miniature Spartan helmet and matching shield for anyone wanting to turn their cat into a tiny warrior. Getting props to sit right on pets can be tricky, so I made sure the helmet has enough clearance for their ears and the shield is kept as lightweight as possible. It is a fun little print if you want to test your printer overhang capabilities or just want some funny photos of your feline friend looking ready for battle.
The files include both the helmet and the shield models. The helmet is scaled for an average adult cat, but you will definitely want to measure the space between your cats ears and scale the model up or down in your slicer before printing to get a proper fit. I highly recommend printing the shield flat on its back to get those top layers looking incredibly clean on the emblem, while the helmet prints best with standard supports touching the build plate.
Recommended Print Settings
• Infill 15 percent gyroid to keep the armor very lightweight for your pet
• Wall loops 2 or 3 for decent rigidity without adding unnecessary mass
• Supports tree supports are highly recommended for the helmet overhangs
• Material PLA or PETG work perfectly fine for this kind of prop
• Adhesion use a brim if your print bed struggles with curved bottom surfaces
