🔌 Makita DC18RD Dual Charger – Skådis Wall Mount (v2)

An improved version of my original Skådis mount for the Makita DC18RD dual charger — redesigned for better stability, strength, and print efficiency.

This update was developed after noticing that the original peg system could become fragile over time and may start to bend under load. This could cause the charger to tilt forward and, in worst cases, slip off the pegs.
To address this, the design has been reworked to provide greater strength and control over how the charger is mounted and supported.

This version replaces the peg system with screw mounts, allowing the charger to be securely fixed using M5 cylindrical head (hex socket) screws. The screws are designed for an exact fit, which makes installation a bit more involved compared to the previous version, but results in a much more rigid and secure connection. Once installed, the charger is significantly less prone to tilting forward or shifting during use.

The screws only need to be installed into the printed supports — the charger itself is then mounted by hanging it onto these screws. The M5 bolts perfectly match the recessed mounting holes that are already present in the Makita charger, ensuring a precise and secure fit without any modification to the charger.

⚠️ The screws can be inserted up to a maximum of 8 mm into the printed supports.
I personally used M5x20 screws, which worked well for this setup.

An additional rear support has been added to brace against the Skådis board, further reducing unwanted movement or flex when inserting or removing the charger.

The angled design (25° tilt) remains, keeping the charger stable while creating space underneath for clean cable routing.

Key Features:
🔩 Screw-mounted system (M5 cylindrical head / hex socket) for maximum stability
🧱 Extra rear support to minimize movement
📐 25° tilt for stability and cable management
🧩 Two-part design (left + right support)
🎯 Designed specifically for IKEA Skådis pegboard
⚡ Fully optimized for support-free printing

💡 Why this design?

The DC18RD is large and takes up valuable workspace.
This updated mount not only moves it onto your wall system, but also improves overall rigidity and durability thanks to the screw-based mounting system and added rear support.

While installation requires a bit more effort due to the precise screw fit, the result is a cleaner, more secure setup that resists movement and forward tilt — without compromising usability.
